Job Overview

A law firm is seeking a dedicated and skilled Litigation Associate Attorney to join its team in San Francisco, CA. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of experience in litigation, with a strong understanding of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code. This role requires someone who has trial experience and a background in complex litigation. Experience on the plaintiffs' side is preferred. A California Bar License is mandatory.

Duties

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials, hearings, and depositions.
  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legal issues related to ongoing cases.
  • Develop case strategies and provide legal counsel to clients.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and support staff to effectively handle cases.
  • Manage case files and ensure all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
  • Prepare witnesses and clients for court appearances.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in litigation.
  • In-depth knowledge of the California Code of Civil Procedure and Evidence Code.
  • Trial experience is essential.
  • Experience in complex litigation is preferred.
  • Experience on the plaintiffs' side is a plus.
  • Active California Bar License required.
  • Strong written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and work under pressure.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Must possess an active California Bar License.
