Job Overview:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in family law and probate cases, including divorce, custody, adoption, domestic violence, child support, spousal support, and estate planning.
  • Provide timely and comprehensive legal services, ensuring all necessary filings and court documents are handled efficiently.
  • Actively participate in courtroom proceedings, including trials, hearings, and motions.
  • Develop legal strategies, conduct legal research, and provide counsel to clients in a variety of family law and probate matters.
  • Provide empathetic and compassionate client relations while ensuring their legal needs are met.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys and support staff to ensure quality representation.
  • Address client concerns and respond promptly to inquiries.
  • Maintain case files, ensuring that all documentation and communications are organized and up to date.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in New Mexico and in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in family law and/or probate law.
  • Strong courtroom experience, including trial and hearing appearances.
  • Proven ability to handle sensitive family law issues with empathy and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a caseload efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New Mexico State Bar license required.

Skills and Competencies:
