H1: Join Michael Best & Friedrich LLP as a Patent Engineer, Scientist, or Agent (Optics) H2: Exciting Opportunity for Experienced Patent Professionals in Multiple Locations Law Firm Seeking Patent Engineer, Scientist, or Agent for Intellectual Property Practice Group - Minimum 2 years of patent drafting and prosecution experience required - Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Optics, Physics, or Biomedical Engineering preferred - Experience in optics, acoustics, video and audio signal processing, virtual/augmented reality, and microscopy systems and imaging techniques highly desired - Opportunity to work with a diverse range of clients in various industries - Collaborative, interdisciplinary work environment at law firm with over 350 lawyers and technical professionals - Locations in multiple states including Wisconsin, Illinois, Utah, Colorado, Texas, North Carolina, and Washington . Responsibilities: - Draft and prosecute patent applications for clients - Manage patent portfolios - Conduct patent analysis and provide opinions of counsel - Participate in inter partes review (IPR) proceedings - Maintain relationships with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff - Manage confidential information and handle sensitive situations with discretion Requirements: - 2+ years of prosecution experience at a firm or in-house - Undergraduate degree in relevant field - Experience in software and AI a plus - Admission to the USPTO a plus - Ability to adapt to changing needs and deadlines - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Problem-solving abilities and flexibility - Professionalism and good judgment - Authorization to work in the .
