A law firm in Lynnwood, WA, is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Family Law Attorney I. This position requires a dynamic individual who can generate a portion of their own billable work, engage in firm marketing efforts, and actively contribute to the firm’s growth through participation in community and professional events. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in mediation and trial experience, as well as exceptional legal research and writing skills.

 

Duties:

  • Generate 30% of own billable work.
  • Present at one event and one organization leadership event.
  • Access coaching and support services for professional development and networking.
  • Mediate and litigate family law cases with a successful track record.
  • Research and analyze complex legal issues.
  • Write memorandums, briefs, letters, and other legal documents.
  • Market personal and firm’s services to prospective clients.
  • Perform discovery of electronically stored data and hard copies in preparation for litigation.
  • Conduct due diligence in all matters.
  • Manage a schedule to allow for consultations and case closures, including outside core hours and weekends if necessary.
  • Accurately update client and case information with fees, engagement details, trust accounts, invoices, etc.
  • Engage in personal and firm brand expansion through blogs, social media, board participation, and organizational involvement.
  • Seek positive feedback and star reviews from successful client engagements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a practicing attorney.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills, including empathetic listening.
  • Successful record of mediation experience.
  • Significant and successful trial experience.
  • Excellent legal research and writing skills.
  • Ability to perform discovery and due diligence.
  • Strong marketing skills for personal and firm services.
  • Competent in managing schedules for consultations and achieving production/collection objectives.
  • Active participation in brand expansion and obtaining client feedback.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (.) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission (or eligibility for reciprocal admission) to the Bar in Washington State.
