A law firm based in New Orleans is seeking a highly skilled Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong interpersonal skills, time management abilities, and independent judgment. This role involves extensive client interaction, detailed case management, and significant involvement in litigation processes.

Duties:

  • Maintain regular contact with clients to provide case updates, address their needs, and ensure satisfaction with the firm's handling of their case.
  • Communicate with clients regarding their medical treatment status and other case-related matters.
  • Meet with clients as requested and update them on the status of their case.
  • Interact with third parties, including insurance adjusters and opposing counsel.
  • Follow the Matter Plan for each assigned case, ensuring tasks are completed timely, accurately, and completely.
  • Review and approve email correspondence, supporting documents, pleadings, and all written discovery.
  • Conduct depositions, attend court hearings, and assist with trial preparation.
  • Review and approve medical treatment and expenses for clients within established limits.
  • Oversee client disbursals and provide guidance to paralegals on case handling.
  • Attend mediations on behalf of clients and work to maximize settlement and verdict amounts.
  • Conduct in-depth reviews of quantum, medical records, bills, and client history.
  • Develop and maintain a strong working knowledge of Louisiana law and the firm's systems and processes.

Requirements:

  • . degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
  • Admission to all federal and state courts in Louisiana.
  • Preferably 5-10 years of litigation experience.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Leadership skills and a commitment to professional growth.

Education:

  • College degree.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Louisiana.
  • Admission to all federal and state courts in Louisiana.
