Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all elements of case work-up and trial preparation in privacy litigation matters.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research on privacy and data protection issues.
  • Draft legal documents such as briefs, complaints, pretrial motions, memoranda, and discovery requests.
  • Advise clients on privacy compliance with federal, state, and international privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.).
  • Participate in incident response management, including data breaches and cyber incidents.
  • Provide strategic legal advice on technology transactions and data privacy issues.
  • Engage in discovery, including the collection, review, and analysis of relevant data.
  • Manage client relationships and maintain regular communication with clients on legal matters.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and support teams on high-stakes litigation.
  • Stay up-to-date with evolving privacy laws and regulations and advise clients on the potential impacts on their business.
  • Assist in risk management and offer practical solutions to clients regarding privacy and cybersecurity issues.

Education and Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the Bar in Tennessee or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.

Requirements:

  • Significant litigation experience, including managing all elements of case work-up and trial preparation.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills, particularly in drafting briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Familiarity with federal, state, and international privacy laws (such as GDPR and CCPA).
  • Experience with privacy litigation and technology-related legal issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Problem-solving abilities and a practical approach to legal challenges.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
