A law firm in Richmond is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Restructuring and Insolvency Associate Attorney. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience in corporate financial restructurings, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, distressed M&A, bankruptcy, or related litigation. The candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, strong writing skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Admission and good standing with the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia are required, with a federal circuit court, district court, or bankruptcy clerkship being a plus.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in corporate financial restructurings and bankruptcy proceedings.
  • Assist with loan workouts and corporate reorganizations.
  • Manage distressed mergers and acquisitions (M&A) transactions.
  • Handle complex commercial litigation related to restructuring and insolvency matters.
  • Draft and review legal documents, including petitions, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and client advice.
  • Collaborate with clients, colleagues, and external parties to resolve complex issues.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations or reports on restructuring and insolvency matters.
  • Stay current on developments in bankruptcy law and financial restructuring practices.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in corporate financial restructurings, loan workouts, corporate reorganizations, distressed M&A, bankruptcy, or related complex commercial litigation.
  • Admission and in good standing with the bar in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • Federal circuit court, district court, or bankruptcy clerkship experience is a plus.
  • Excellent academic record.
  • Strong legal writing and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Virginia (or ability to promptly obtain admission if not currently licensed).

Skills:
