A law firm in Las Vegas, NV is seeking a Senior Criminal Defense Attorney to join their dynamic team. This role involves reporting directly to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and managing a complex caseload with significant client interaction. The Senior Criminal Defense Attorney will provide strategic legal advice, represent clients in various legal proceedings, and collaborate closely with the Criminal Defense Team. The ideal candidate will have substantial criminal defense experience, including at the federal, state, and local levels, and will demonstrate strong leadership and interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney and manage a substantial caseload.
  • Advise clients on their legal rights and prepare comprehensive legal documents.
  • Represent clients at pretrial hearings and trials, offering strategic guidance based on hearing outcomes.
  • Handle court appearances, manage trials, draft motions, interview witnesses, and conduct in-depth legal research.
  • Analyze case outcomes using legal precedents and develop strategic case plans.
  • Provide detailed legal analysis to identify potential benefits and formulate effective case strategies.
  • Collect and present additional evidence to support client cases or counter prosecution arguments.
  • Prepare clients for depositions, set strategic case goals, and gather information from witnesses and experts.
  • Mentor and collaborate with junior attorneys and legal assistants, contributing to team success.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a law school accredited by the American Bar Association (ABA).
  • Active admission to the State Bar (Nevada preferred).
  • At least 4-5 years of experience in criminal defense, including handling complex cases at federal, state, and local levels.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is required.
  • Proven track record of managing a caseload and working collaboratively within a legal team.
