Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Medical Malpractice Defense practice group. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a motivated and skilled litigator with a strong background in medical malpractice defense. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of litigation experience, including two years specifically focused on medical malpractice matters. The role requires a self-driven individual with exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Location:

• Baltimore, Maryland

Duties:

• Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases, from pre-litigation through trial.
• Handle a caseload, including depositions, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal issues and strategy development.
• Manage client relationships and provide regular case updates.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
• Assist in the development of defense strategies and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.
• At least 2 years of experience specifically in medical malpractice defense litigation.
• Active and in good standing with the Maryland and/or District of Columbia bar.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the Maryland and/or District of Columbia Bar is required.

Skills:

• Experience with medical malpractice defense litigation, including depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
• Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
