Job Overview: A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join its Medical Malpractice Defense practice group. The ideal candidate will have at least four years of litigation experience, including two years specifically focused on medical malpractice matters. The role requires a self-driven individual with exceptional problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Location:

  • Baltimore, Maryland

Duties:

  • Represent clients in medical malpractice defense cases, from pre-litigation through trial.
  • Handle a caseload, including depositions, motions, discovery, and trial preparation.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys on complex legal issues and strategy development.
  • Manage client relationships and provide regular case updates.
  • Draft legal documents such as motions, briefs, and discovery responses.
  • Assist in the development of defense strategies and ensure compliance with legal and ethical standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years of litigation experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience specifically in medical malpractice defense litigation.
  • Active and in good standing with the Maryland and/or District of Columbia bar.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Maryland and/or District of Columbia Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Experience with medical malpractice defense litigation, including depositions, motions, and trial preparation.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Effective communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration.
