Job Overview:
A reputable law firm is seeking a Senior Attorney to handle a caseload involving complex bankruptcy, foreclosure, title, and litigation matters on behalf of banks, investors, mortgage servicers, and other creditors. The role requires a deep understanding of bankruptcy and foreclosure law, compliance with the Federal Bankruptcy Code, and the ability to manage high-volume legal work. The ideal candidate will have a California and Texas law license, with extensive experience in default servicing.

Duties:
- Collaborate with attorneys and support staff on procedures related to bankruptcy/foreclosure practices, including document preparation, filing requirements, and judicial tendencies.
- Address complex title resolution matters, including title claims, quiet title actions, and other strategies for resolution.
- Provide loan-level recommendations while ensuring compliance with the Federal Bankruptcy Code, local rules, case law, and related policies.
- Review and analyze client documents, such as bankruptcy filings, proofs of claim, mortgage payment change notices, loan documents, title searches, payment histories, pleadings, motions, affidavits, and discovery.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, certifications, objections, orders, memoranda, and letters.
- Represent clients at hearings, settlement conferences, and other appearances (in-person, video, or telephonic).
- Keep clients informed on case progress and updates through email, phone, and client systems.
- Respond promptly to communications from clients, opposing counsel, court staff, trustees, mediators, and others.
- Escalate matters as necessary and perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
- Strong organizational, time management, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks in a high-volume production environment.
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with a variety of legal, non-legal, and client stakeholders.
- Self-starter who can work independently and handle multiple priorities.
Education:
- Juris Doctorate from an ABA-accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Member in good standing with the California State Bar, Texas State Bar, and any additional State Bar licenses (additional licenses are a plus).
Skills:
- 8+ years of experience representing secured creditors or mortgage servicers, with a background in Bankruptcy or Default Mortgage Industry.
- Familiarity with BKFS LoanSphere Default, Sagent Tempo, and CaseAware is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- SharePoint experience is a plus.
