A law firm in Edina, MN, is seeking a seasoned Litigation Attorney to join its construction and commercial litigation practice. The ideal candidate will possess a competitive attitude, excellent communication and writing skills, and demonstrated experience in managing complex state and federal litigation matters with creativity and ethical integrity. Experience with construction, insurance coverage, first-party, and property litigation is a plus. The successful candidate will have over 10 years of litigation experience and a proven track record of handling high-stakes cases effectively.
Duties:
- Represent clients in construction and commercial litigation matters, including state and federal cases.
- Develop and execute litigation strategies for complex legal disputes, ensuring ethical and effective case management.
- Conduct thorough legal research and draft detailed legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and briefs.
- Manage discovery processes, including document review, depositions, and witness preparation.
- Provide courtroom representation, including presenting arguments, examining witnesses, and handling trials.
- Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide strategic legal advice.
- Negotiate settlements and draft settlement agreements as needed.
- Stay updated on relevant legal developments and changes in laws affecting construction and commercial litigation.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission and active license to practice law in Minnesota.
- 10+ years of litigation experience, particularly in construction and commercial litigation.
- Proven experience in handling complex state and federal litigation matters.
- Experience with construction, insurance coverage, first-party, and property litigation is advantageous.
