In this role, you will be responsible for managing a team of professionals to provide state and local tax services to clients. You will work with clients to analyze their tax burden and recommend solutions to support their business objectives. You will also help clients with issues related to abandoned and unclaimed property, income and franchise tax, payroll and employment tax, credits and incentives, and indirect tax. You will have the opportunity to develop new skills, coach others, and analyze complex ideas to provide meaningful recommendations. Job Summary: The Manager in the State and Local Tax - Mergers & Acquisitions department at PwC will provide state and local tax services to clients, helping them solve business issues related to business restructuring, new tax laws, and local tax developments. This role requires up to 20% travel and a Bachelor's degree in Accounting. CPA, bar membership, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may also qualify for this opportunity. CPA, bar membership, or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity. Juris Doctorate degree in Taxation preferred. Thorough knowledge of state and local tax issues related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate structures, private equity, post-deal integration, bankruptcy, and corporate insolvency. Considerable knowledge of tax consulting and planning, transaction structuring, restructuring, due diligence, strategy formulation, and financial modeling. Comprehensive technical skills in the application and interpretation of state and local income tax law for Subchapter C and S corporations, partnerships, consolidated groups, corporate bankruptcies and insolvencies, tax efficient structuring, and use of debt. Experience building and maintaining client relationships and engaging in community involvement. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to manage resources, project workflow, budgets, billing and collections. Experience as a team leader, with a focus on building trust and seeking diverse views to encourage innovation. Familiarity with CRM systems. Knowledge of automation and digitization in a professional services environment, including using data and visualization tools. Familiarity with alternative fee arrangements and pricing strategies. Willingness to travel up to 20% of the time. The salary range for this position is $98,300 - $266,000, and individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The actual compensation within this range will depend on an individual's skills, experience, qualifications, and location, as well as applicable employment laws.
