Duties:

  • Consult with employers, adjusters, and attorneys regarding Medicare-related issues in workers’ compensation cases and defense litigation.
  • Educate clients on proper procedures for handling Medicare set-asides and compliance requirements.
  • Guide firm attorneys on effective strategies and best practices to achieve desired case resolution outcomes, including the utilization of structured settlements.
  • Perform conditional payment searches and compile necessary documentation for Medicare submissions for set-aside approval.
  • Draft Medicare language for settlement documents to ensure compliance with regulations and client objectives.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania State Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 1-4 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in Medicare compliance, workers’ compensation, or defense litigation.
  • Strong analytical abilities with attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Certifications:

  • None is required, but certifications or coursework related to Medicare compliance or workers’ compensation law are advantageous.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis.
  • Ability to interpret and apply Medicare regulations and guidelines.
