Director, Assistant General Counsel: Commercial Real Estate - Job Summary - Full-time position at Capital One for an experienced commercial real estate finance attorney - Opportunity to join a Fortune 100 Company and work with an exceptional team - Responsible for providing legal support to the Commercial Real Estate (CRE) business segment within the Commercial Bank - Will work on a wide variety of CRE transactions and projects, including permanent and construction financing for various types of projects and financing for REITS and real estate funds - Must have strong legal and communication skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced and innovative environment - Will work closely with other internal counsel and business teams, and represent the Commercial Bank with external parties - Responsible for thought leadership on industry and regulatory developments, as well as leading projects such as form document development and training sessions - Must have detailed working knowledge of commercial real estate finance and experience managing outside counsel - Minimum basic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and at least 6 years of experience in a law firm or in-house legal department with a focus on commercial real estate financing - Preferred qualifications include 7+ years of experience and experience with lending to REITS, REIFS, and sponsor-backed finance transactions - This role is not eligible for employment authorization sponsorship by Capital One - Salary ranges from $233,100 to $266,000 for Director, Assistant General Counsel in New York City, and may vary for other locations - Performance-based incentive compensation may be included in the compensation package - Comprehensive benefits package offered by Capital One to support employee well-being - Expected to accept applications for a minimum of 5 business days - Equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion in the workplace - Accommodations available for applicants who require them - For technical support or questions about the recruiting process, contact - Position may be available in Canada, Europe, or the Philippines.
