A law firm in Long Beach, CA, seeks a Mid-level Environmental and Natural Resources Associate Attorney. The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental law and natural resources, with experience in managing soil and groundwater contamination, water quality, air quality, and climate change cases. This role involves conducting legal research, participating in litigation, and providing regulatory compliance guidance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive legal research and environmental and natural resources law analysis.
• Perform preliminary case investigations and evaluations to support litigation and legal strategies.
• Participate in environmental litigation matters, including drafting and reviewing pleadings, discovery requests, and motions.
• Provide legal guidance on compliance issues, regulatory requirements, and environmental policies.
• Conduct due diligence in real estate transactions focusing on environmental concerns.
• Support senior attorneys in various legal matters and case preparations.
• Stay updated on relevant statutes, regulations, and case law to provide accurate legal advice and representation.

Requirements:

• 2-5 years of experience in environmental and natural resources law.
• Demonstrated expertise in statutes, regulations, and common law issues related to soil and groundwater contamination, water quality, air quality, and climate change.
• Membership in the California State Bar is required.
• A California State Bar license is a plus.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

• Strong legal research and analytical skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in drafting legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
