Job Overview: A reputable law firm is seeking a qualified Personal Injury Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for helping clients navigate personal injury claims, from investigation to resolution, ensuring that clients receive the justice and compensation they deserve. This position involves handling cases before litigation and will require strong legal acumen, communication, and negotiation skills.
Duties:
- Manage personal injury case files from start to finish, ensuring thorough case handling and timely progression.
- Investigate potential claims, evaluate legal options, and provide sound legal advice to prospective clients.
- Negotiate settlements and resolve cases efficiently, representing clients in hearings, mediations, and depositions as needed.
- Collaborate with clients, witnesses, insurance adjusters, medical providers, and other experts to gather information and build strong case foundations.
- Handle case management duties, including drafting legal documents such as pleadings, discovery, and motions.
- Engage in PIP-recorded statements and Examinations Under Oath, when applicable.
- Stay updated on current legal developments, including new case laws and legislation.
- Foster strong, trust-based relationships with clients to maintain long-term professional ties.
- Market legal services within the community and at events as required.
Requirements:
- In-depth knowledge of personal injury law, including tort law, wrongful death, civil, family law, and medical malpractice.
- Proficiency in using legal software and computer systems.
- Membership in the State Bar Association and a valid Florida law license in good standing with no history of disciplinary issues.
- Strong academic background and outstanding legal research and writing skills.
- Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written and oral.
- Self-motivated with a career-driven focus.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and in a team-oriented environment.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Bachelor's degree required.
Certifications:
- Florida State Bar license required.
