Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking experienced litigators to join its office in Tarrytown, NY. The ideal candidate will be dedicated to handling all phases of litigation, primarily focusing on general liability or labor and employment law. The firm provides a collaborative environment, working alongside experienced partners, with opportunities for professional development and hands-on experience from day one.

Duties:

• Represent clients in litigation cases, from inception to expert discovery, particularly in professional liability or labor and employment.
• Attend court appearances, depositions, hearings, and case management conferences.
• Conduct thorough legal research and investigations during discovery.
• Draft legal documents such as motions, pleadings, discovery requests/responses, settlement agreements, and memoranda.
• Prepare litigation reports, discovery summaries, and case evaluations.
• Negotiate settlements and resolve disputes with opposing counsel.
• Maintain close communication with clients, providing legal analysis and updates throughout the case.

Requirements:

• Licensed to practice law in New York State.
• Significant litigation experience with a background in general liability or labor and employment.
• Strong knowledge of federal and state civil procedure rules.
• Ability to manage discovery, lead depositions, and argue motions independently.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active New York Bar membership.

Certifications:

• Admitted to the New York State Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent writing and organizational skills.
• Strong negotiation skills and legal research capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Familiarity with legal research tools, such as Lexis or Westlaw.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
