Job Overview: A law firm seeks a compassionate and driven family law attorney to join its legal team in Indianapolis, IN. The candidate will work closely with clients, providing thoughtful representation during sensitive family law matters such as divorce, child custody, and protective orders. This role requires strong advocacy skills, a keen understanding of family law, and the ability to manage high-stress situations with empathy and professionalism. The attorney will handle a wide range of family law cases, including prenuptial agreements, child support, and paternity disputes while working collaboratively with a supportive team.

Duties:

• Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring efficient and effective resolution of cases
• Provide strategic legal guidance to clients on family law matters, including divorce, custody, and support
• Draft and review legal documents such as motions, pleadings, contracts, and settlement agreements
• Represent clients in court proceedings, including hearings and trials
• Advise clients on the division of marital assets and other related issues
• Conduct thorough legal research to support case strategies and decision-making
• Collaborate with paralegals and other attorneys to expedite the litigation process

Requirements:

• Active license to practice law in the state of Indiana
• A minimum of 3 years of experience handling family law cases, including divorce, custody, and child support matters
• Proven ability to manage high-stakes, emotionally charged cases with professionalism and care
• Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to advocate effectively for clients in court and during settlements
• Ability to meet billable hour goals and manage a fast-paced caseload

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Licensed to practice law in Indiana, in good standing

Skills:

• Strong research and drafting skills for preparing legal documents
• Effective courtroom advocacy and negotiation abilities
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking
• Ability to work well with a team, including attorneys, paralegals, and support staff
