Job Overview:
This role seeks an experienced attorney to support a law firm specializing in client representation in eviction cases. The attorney will work remotely from Portland, OR, but must be licensed in California. Duties:

  • Manage and oversee a caseload of eviction matters for clients
  • Provide sound legal advice and updates on evolving eviction laws
  • Conduct thorough legal research to support case preparation and strategy
  • Draft and review legal documents, including complaints, motions, oppositions, and discovery materials
  • Represent clients in court hearings, handling all litigation aspects related to eviction cases
  • Educate clients on eviction law changes and trends for proactive legal guidance

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Active membership in the California State Bar, maintaining compliance with licensing and continuing education
  • Minimum of 1 year of legal experience, with a preference for backgrounds in eviction, foreclosure, or litigation

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • California State Bar membership (required)
  • Additional state Bar licenses (preferred)

Skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities
  • Proficiency in legal research and analysis
  • Advocacy and negotiation capabilities
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills, with attention to case timelines and client needs
