Job Overview: A law firm in New York City is seeking a dedicated Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will handle a caseload of workers' compensation claims from inception through resolution, including legal research, client representation, and appellate work.

Duties:

• Conduct thorough file reviews and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims.
• Perform extensive legal research and draft legal documents, including client correspondence, discovery devices, summations, appeals, and appellate briefs.
• Maintain an annual billable requirement of 1950 hours.
• Represent clients at depositions and hearings before the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board.
• Prepare for trials and attend as necessary.
• Retain and evaluate expert witnesses as needed.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience as a practicing attorney, preferably focused on workers' compensation law.
• . degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to practice law in New York and other states is a plus.
• Superior analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong research abilities and excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prompt responsiveness to email and phone inquiries.
• Excellent client management skills and professional telephone manners.

Education and Certifications:

• . degree from an ABA-approved law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar; additional state admissions are advantageous.
