Summary: Ecolab is seeking an experienced Assistant General Counsel to join their Commercial Law department as a key member of their team in St. Paul, MN. In this role, the individual will serve as a strategic business partner to the company's global Institutional division, providing legal advice and solutions to support the achievement of business objectives while managing risk and protecting Ecolab's reputation. Position: Assistant General Counsel - Institutional Location: St. Paul, MN (with hybrid remote option available) Responsibilities: - Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements for the Institutional Division. - Advise on commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters affecting the sale of the company's products and services. - Collaborate with regional attorneys on contract negotiations. - Provide training and guidance to business partners on legal and commercial matters. - Review marketing and sales materials for legal compliance. - Assist with M&A due diligence and customer claims. - Mentor and supervise paralegals on the team. Qualifications: - Law degree from an accredited . law school and admission to the Bar. - 5+ years of experience in, or advising, a global business and 8+ years of legal experience overall. - Knowledge of general commercial law and FAR clauses. - Ability to diagnose and present solutions for commercial and legal problems. - Excellent communication and negotiation skills. - Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities. - Experience in regulated product manufacturing or advising businesses in this industry. - Understanding of P&L and business operations. - Management and supervisory experience. - Strong relationship management skills. - Experience working in a matrix organization.
