A law firm is seeking an Employment Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Baltimore, MD office. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of litigation experience, with a strong background in employment law. This role involves defending and litigating a broad range of employment-related claims, representing employers in various forums, and providing strategic legal counsel on labor and employment issues.

Duties:

  • Defend and litigate lawsuits involving a broad range of employment-related claims and agency charges of discrimination.
  • Represent employers in court, before administrative agencies, during mediations, and in arbitrations on employment matters such as class/collective actions, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, contract disputes, employment torts, and non-compete cases.
  • Provide advice and counsel to employers on a wide range of labor and employment laws and regulations.
  • Draft, review, and manage legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support litigation strategies.
  • Manage case files and maintain effective communication with clients.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies for complex employment cases.
  • Stay informed about current court and employment-related agency procedures at both state and federal levels.
  • Collaborate with team members and work independently on various projects.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of litigation experience with a strong preference for an employment law background.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school with excellent academic credentials.
  • Active MD Bar admission or the ability to obtain admission quickly.
  • Strong understanding of current court and employment-related agency procedures (state and federal).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to excellence.
  • Ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and project management skills.
  • Commitment to professionalism, collegiality, and teamwork, with the ability to work independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in Maryland (or the ability to obtain admission quickly).
