Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide legal counsel on privacy and data protection compliance, including advising on data security incidents.
• Manage and respond to regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.
• Advise clients on state, federal, and international data security incident notification obligations.
• Assist in defending against regulatory investigations related to privacy and security.
• Collaborate with clients to ensure compliance with privacy and security obligations.
• Handle privacy and cybersecurity breach response, including developing strategies and managing litigation.
• Conduct legal research and stay updated on evolving data privacy and security laws.
• Prepare and deliver effective written and oral communications.
• Manage a fast-paced, complex workload, prioritize tasks, and anticipate potential issues.
• Engage in technology and forensic investigations to understand and address technical aspects of privacy and security matters.
• Work collaboratively with a team, contributing to a supportive and effective work environment.

Requirements:

• 3-6 years of relevant experience in privacy and cybersecurity law, either in a law firm or in-house setting.
• Demonstrated experience in privacy and cybersecurity breach response or related litigation.
• Strong understanding of data privacy and security laws.
• Exceptional project management skills.
• Effective and persuasive writing and oral communication skills.
• Ability to manage a complex workload and prioritize effectively.
• Motivation to learn and understand technology and forensic investigations.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admitted to practice law in California.
