Job Overview:
A law firm in Pasadena, CA is seeking a full-time associate attorney with a focus on commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess expertise in creditors' rights, the Uniform Voidable Transactions Act (UVTA), the Enforcement of Judgments Law (EJL), and the Civil Discovery Act (CDA). Strong legal research and writing skills are essential.

Location: Pasadena, CA 

Duties:

• Manage an active caseload
• Conduct legal research and drafting
• Respond to written discovery requests
• Conduct and defend depositions
• Draft pleadings, including complaints and motions
• Attend court hearings
• Conduct judgment debtor examinations
• Subpoena third parties and document requests
• Draft post-judgment pleadings
• Familiarity with bank levies, real estate levies, and wage garnishments
• Bankruptcy experience preferred

Requirements:

• Minimum 3-5 years of litigation experience
• Valid California State Bar license
• Two writing samples

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• California State Bar Number

Skills:

• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Strong communication skills
• Sense of humor is a plus
