A law firm seeks a committed and experienced Criminal Defense Attorney to join its growing team in Redwood City, California. The successful candidate will work closely with the Managing Criminal Defense Attorney, managing their cases while receiving comprehensive support from a dynamic team of legal professionals.

Duties

• Provide legal counsel to clients regarding their rights and case details, drafting essential legal documents.
• Represent clients at pretrial hearings and communicate strategies following court proceedings.
• Oversee court appearances, trial preparation, motion drafting, witness interviews, and detailed legal research.
• Evaluate likely outcomes of cases using a solid understanding of legal precedents.
• Manage a diverse caseload effectively while ensuring thorough client communication and case preparation.
• Gather and present additional evidence to support clients' cases or challenge the prosecution’s arguments.
• Prepare clients for depositions and develop case strategies supported by witnesses and expert testimonies.

Requirements

• Proven experience handling intricate criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.
• Strong ability to collaborate and strategize within a team environment.
• High-level interpersonal and communication skills.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active and in good standing membership with the California State Bar.
