Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a Construction Litigation Associate with 1-3 years of experience to handle disputes related to construction issues, including scope changes, liens, claims, and delays. The ideal candidate will possess strong litigation skills, a solid understanding of construction contracts, and a desire to provide exceptional legal service. Additional experience in depositions, arbitration, or trial work is preferred but not required.

Location:

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research, writing, and analysis for construction disputes.
  • Draft and review motions, pleadings, and discovery documents.
  • Analyze and review construction contracts.
  • Engage in e-discovery processes as part of litigation.
  • Represent clients in litigation, including taking and defending depositions.
  • Assist with arbitration or trial preparation and proceedings.
  • Provide exceptional legal service to clients and maintain strong client relationships.

Requirements:

  • 1-3 years of experience in litigation, with a focus on construction disputes preferred.
  • Strong experience with legal research, writing, and analysis.
  • Experience with motion practice, discovery, and e-discovery processes.
  • Ability to handle construction contracts and claims analysis.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to manage multiple deadlines.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise sound judgment and strategic decision-making.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in good standing.

Skills:

  • Strong litigation skills, including drafting pleadings and conducting discovery.
  • Proficiency in electronic discovery and litigation support tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize effectively.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Experience in construction law and related disputes is a plus.
