This position supports clients in cases related to family reunification, visa applications for crime victims, and other humanitarian immigration services. Duties:
- Manage a caseload focused on family- and humanitarian-based immigration matters, working closely with other attorneys and paralegals.
- Conduct consultations and initial assessments with clients, with support from senior attorneys as needed.
- Prepare and submit affirmative filings to USCIS and other related agencies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
- Represent clients in interviews before USCIS, initially with supervision and moving toward independent representation.
- Maintain clear communication with clients about case progress, strategy, and expectations.
- Build professional relationships with referral sources and establish an online presence within the immigration law community.
Requirements:
- Fluency in Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
- Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently, with a focus on organization and time management.
- Strong judgment skills and a commitment to client-centered service.
- Dedication to supporting and improving the communities served by the firm.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (required).
Certifications:
- Active license to practice law in the United States, with eligibility to work in New Mexico.
