A law firm seeks a motivated Bilingual Associate Attorney to join its family- and humanitarian-based immigration team. This position supports clients in cases related to family reunification, visa applications for crime victims, and other humanitarian immigration services. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload focused on family- and humanitarian-based immigration matters, working closely with other attorneys and paralegals.
  • Conduct consultations and initial assessments with clients, with support from senior attorneys as needed.
  • Prepare and submit affirmative filings to USCIS and other related agencies, ensuring accuracy and adherence to deadlines.
  • Represent clients in interviews before USCIS, initially with supervision and moving toward independent representation.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients about case progress, strategy, and expectations.
  • Build professional relationships with referral sources and establish an online presence within the immigration law community.

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to prioritize and complete tasks efficiently, with a focus on organization and time management.
  • Strong judgment skills and a commitment to client-centered service.
  • Dedication to supporting and improving the communities served by the firm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school (required).

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the United States, with eligibility to work in New Mexico.
