Job Overview: A law firm specializing in energy and infrastructure projects seeks an experienced Projects Lawyer to join their Austin office. The ideal candidate will have 4-6 years of relevant experience in project development and mergers and acquisitions, preferably in renewable energy or oil & gas sectors.
Duties:
- Draft and negotiate engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), equipment procurement agreements, and other project development contracts.
- Conduct due diligence and risk assessment for project transactions.
- Advise clients on regulatory compliance and project financing matters.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables, ensuring compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, finance professionals, and government authorities.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the Texas State Bar or eligible for admission via reciprocity.
- 4-6 years of experience in project development and mergers and acquisitions within the energy sector, preferably with exposure to renewable energy projects.
- Proven track record of negotiating complex commercial agreements.
- Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and environmental considerations in project development.
Certifications (Preferred):
- Certification in Energy Law or related field.
