Duties

  • Represent clients in removal defense cases in court, advocating for the best outcomes
  • Guide clients on eligibility for various immigration reliefs and provide legal counsel
  • Collaborate with Immigration Judges, DHS, and ICE officers to support clients’ cases
  • Provide exceptional client service, ensuring clear communication and support
  • Adapt to handling humanitarian and family-based immigration cases as the practice shifts focus
  • Maintain a high level of professional conduct, representing diverse clients with empathy and respect

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice law in the United States
  • Active, good-standing member of the Bar Association
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in removal defense, with at least 30 completed Individual Calendar Hearings (ICHs)
  • Familiarity with asylum cases and passion for serving immigrant communities, especially from Mexican and Guatemalan backgrounds
  • Demonstrated work ethic, resilience, and problem-solving skills

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Must hold an active law license in the United States
