Duties

  • Prepare, Submit, and Review Immigration Applications:

    • Draft and file immigration petitions, including family-based and humanitarian applications such as VAWA, U visa, and T visa cases.
    • Manage removal defense cases and submit filings to relevant immigration authorities.
  • Client Representation:

    • Represent clients in hearings before USCIS, EOIR, and BIA.
    • Communicate with clients, ensuring they understand their legal options and case strategies.
  • Collaborate on Legal Strategy:

    • Work closely with team members to develop and execute case strategies tailored to individual client needs.
  • Case Management:

    • Manage case filings, and deadlines, and review legal documents, including briefs and cover letters, for submission to USCIS.
  • Legal Research and Analysis:

    • Research unique legal issues, identifying relevant statutes, judicial decisions, and agency regulations.
    • Stay informed about legislative updates that impact immigration law.
  • Maintain Ethical Standards:

    • Comply with all legal and ethical standards, ensuring the protection of client interests and adherence to professional conduct rules.

Requirements

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years practicing immigration law.
  • Licensure: Active bar license in at least one . jurisdiction.
  • Experience with Humanitarian Relief: VAWA, U visa, or T visa experience is highly preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active bar membership in any . state.
