A law firm in Washington, . is seeking a Commercial Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-4 years of experience in general litigation, preferably with exposure to antitrust matters. The ideal candidate should possess strong research and advocacy writing skills, and be adept at drafting complaints, motions, conducting discovery, taking depositions, and appearing in federal and state courts.

Duties:

  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
  • Conduct legal research and provide well-reasoned legal opinions.
  • Manage discovery including drafting and responding to discovery requests, conducting document reviews, and preparing for and defending depositions.
  • Represent clients in hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
  • Correspond with opposing counsel, clients, and internal stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Washington, . Bar and Virginia Bar, or eligibility and intent to become admitted.
  • 3-4 years of experience in commercial litigation, with exposure to antitrust matters considered a strong advantage.
  • Excellent research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in drafting legal documents such as complaints, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Experience with conducting legal research using LexisNexis, Westlaw, or similar platforms.
  • Effective communication skills for interactions with clients, opposing counsel, and internal stakeholders.
