Summary: - Job title: Government Relations Counsel III - Salary range: $185,900 - $240,570 per year (based on location) - Experience: Minimum 7 years as an attorney, minimum 3 years in legislative/regulatory/government relations - Education: . required - Location: Remote with possible locations in CA, OR, CO, WA, HI, GA, MD, VA, or . - Department: Government Relations - Shift: Day - Weekly hours: 40 - Travel: Yes, 10% of the time - Employee status: Regular - Employee group/union affiliation: Non Union Employee - Job level: Individual Contributor Job Description: H1: Experienced Government Relations Counsel III for Kaiser Permanente H2: Advise on Public Policy, Regulatory, and Legislative Issues The Government Relations Counsel III will provide counsel to management and senior leadership on complex and strategic public policy, regulatory, and legislative issues that have a significant impact on Kaiser Permanente. This role requires in-depth knowledge of the political environment, critical business problems, and emerging issues. Key Responsibilities: - Analyze the impact of state and federal legislative and regulatory proposals on Kaiser Permanente - Provide policy, legal, and strategic counsel to KPs state and federal Government Relations professionals - Assist in the formulation of Kaiser Permanentes public policy positions - Convene and lead working groups of Kaiser Permanente experts on specific health policy or operational issues - Draft proposed legislation, regulations, and amendments - Represent Kaiser Permanente in government and industry meetings and advocate for stakeholders and constituencies in the industry - Provide counsel to management on federal and state statutes, regulations, court opinions, administrative procedures, and legal proposals Basic Qualifications: - Minimum 7 years experience as an attorney in a law firm or company, or in government in one or more legal specialties - Minimum 3 years directly related experience in legislative, regulatory, or government relations - . required - State Bar License (in applicable location) Additional Requirements: - Excellent written and verbal advocacy skills - Excellent analytical and interpretive skills - Excellent communication and presentation skills - Must be able to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment Preferred Qualifications: - In-depth knowledge of legislative or regulatory process - Expertise in managed care regulation, healthcare policy, and/or Medicaid - Knowledge of healthcare industry Salary Information: - Salary ranges are geographically based and may vary based on location - The posted range reflects the Northern CA region - Lower salary ranges may apply for other labor markets outside of NCAL - Actual pay determined at offer will be based on years of relevant work experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location - A review of current employees in similar roles will ensure pay equity across Kaiser Permanente At Kaiser Permanente, equity, inclusion, and diversity are essential to our mission.
