A law firm in La Mesa, CA is seeking a Family Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The candidate will be responsible for drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, assisting with trial preparation, and managing client interactions in family law matters.

 

Duties:

  • Draft motions, responses, declarations, financial disclosures, correspondence, agreements, and other family law documents.
  • Propound and respond to written discovery.
  • Make various family law court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research.
  • Assist with trial preparation.
  • Manage client interactions.
  • Assist at trials consistent with experience.

 

Requirements:

  • Member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Experience with tracking billable time is a plus.
  • High level writing capabilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle assigned caseload and interact with clients.
  • Ability to make various family law court appearances.
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently.
  • Demonstrated time management skills and ability to reprioritize and work under multiple deadlines.
  • Computer literacy.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Member in good standing of the California State Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Proficiency in computer applications relevant to legal practice.

 

Experience:

1+ years of family law or litigation experience.
