A law firm in Chicago, IL, is seeking a skilled CFIUS and International Trade/Export Controls Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in the Committee on Foreign Investments (CFIUS), . export controls, and International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Duties

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic advice on CFIUS-related matters and international trade/export controls.
  • Handle compliance issues related to . export controls and ITAR.
  • Represent clients in interactions with regulatory agencies and ensure adherence to federal regulations.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of required documentation and applications for export licenses.
  • Analyze and interpret complex regulations and their impact on business operations.
  • Conduct due diligence and risk assessments for international transactions.
  • Develop and deliver training programs on compliance with international trade regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in regulations and provide proactive advice to clients.
  • Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to international trade and export controls.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in international trade regulatory, compliance, and enforcement.
  • Experience with CFIUS and . export controls, including ITAR.
  • General knowledge of the Defense Priorities & Allocation System (DPAS) is preferred.
  • Must be admitted and actively barred in Illinois.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Illinois State Bar.
