About the Role: The Safety & Insurance Litigation team at Uber is responsible for managing and overseeing litigation and claims related to the company's insurance policies. As a Safety & Insurance Litigation Paralegal, you will provide vital support to the in-house attorneys and play a crucial role in the success of the team. What You'll Do: - Prioritize and manage a high volume of matters and assist with all phases of tort litigation in the US and Canada - Maintain and oversee case handling processes and procedures - Consult and assist attorneys with specific case needs - Review, organize, and track legal documents using the matter management system - Analyze and escalate inquiries and issues as needed - Conduct research and fact investigation - Support team projects and initiatives - Perform complex data analytics - Respond to requests from outside counsel, insurers, and other stakeholders - Create engaging presentations for internal and external audiences Basic Qualifications: - Minimum of 4 years of paralegal experience - Bachelor's degree required, Paralegal certificate preferred (or as required by local rules) - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Experience in a defense firm or insurance company preferred - Experience working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment - Knowledge of e-discovery and document production processes - Familiarity with Salesforce or other CRM/database systems - Data querying and SQL skills - Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail - Self-motivation and ability to work independently and in a team - Intermediate computer skills, including Google suite, Excel, Word, Adobe, Box, and other web-based applications - Passion for Uber and its mission Preferred Qualifications: - Paralegal certificate preferred (or as required by local rules) Salary and Benefits: The base hourly rate for this role in Chicago, IL ranges from to per hour.
