Job Title: Tax Experienced Manager – ASC740 Location: Phoenix, AZ, United States Company: BDO USA, LLP Job Category: Generalist Experience: 6+ years Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation, Master's degree preferred License/Certifications: CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent (or equivalent) Salary Range: $165,000 - $180,000 Job Summary: The Core Tax Services Experienced Manager – ASC740 at BDO USA, LLP is responsible for advising clients on tax implications, evaluating and selecting alternative actions to lessen tax burden, and acting as the primary client contact for complex corporate tax and ASC 740 tax issues. This role requires strong knowledge of tax regulations and the ability to identify and communicate potential risks and changes in tax policy. Job Duties: - Ensure client compliance with applicable authorities and minimize their tax and reporting burdens - Conduct top level review of tax returns and resolve any issues with clients - Communicate any identified issues to client and Assurance team - Plan and review tax processes and procedures, including budgeting and staffing - Manage client relationships and provide timely advice - Identify and research complex tax issues, involving firm specialists when necessary - Apply Firm policies and standards regarding ASC 740 tax accruals - Clearly and concisely explain and discuss income tax provisions and uncertain tax positions with clients - Review tax provisions and workpapers, utilizing specialized tax services as needed - Assist with developing and implementing tax strategies to minimize taxes for clients - Develop an in-depth understanding of one or more areas of taxation and provide training to team members on ASC 740 - Introduce new ideas to improve client position and collaborate with National and Specialized Tax Services teams Supervisory Responsibilities: - Supervise and train associates and senior associates - Review work prepared by team members and provide feedback - Act as a career advisor and manage workload and performance of team members Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Taxation, Master's degree preferred - 6+ years of prior experience, including managing tax and ASC740 computations - CPA, Attorney, or Enrolled Agent certification required - Experience with Microsoft Office and tax research databases preferred - Strong communication and delegation skills - Ability to work in a team environment and develop and maintain client relationships Salary Information: Individual salaries at BDO USA, LLP are determined based on qualifications, experience, skills, and location. The salary range for this position in Phoenix, AZ is $165,000 - $180,000.
