Job Overview:

A prominent law firm is seeking a qualified Attorney to join their team in Amsterdam, NY. Duties:

• Utilize case management and reporting software to efficiently manage assigned cases.
• Appear in court as required, including attending hearings and other legal proceedings.
• Travel occasionally for court appearances or client meetings.
• Apply knowledge of consumer credit collections and state laws relevant to the jurisdiction.
• Handle creditors' rights matters, foreclosure proceedings, eviction services, and bankruptcy solutions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and handle real estate-owned (REO) services.
• Communicate proactively with clients and maintain superior client care.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues and support the firm's community engagement initiatives.

Requirements:

• Active member in good standing of the New York State Bar.
• A strong understanding of consumer credit collections and the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).
• Demonstrated ability to manage legal cases and effectively utilize legal software.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong client service orientation with attention to detail.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Member of the New York State Bar.

Certifications:

• Active New York State Bar license (required).
• Multi-state licensure is strongly preferred.

Skills:

• Strong knowledge of legal procedures related to collections, foreclosure, and bankruptcy.
• Excellent case management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and client communication.
