Job Overview
A dynamic personal injury law firm is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with 3-5 years of experience in personal injury litigation to join its growing team. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel to the firm’s Dallas office. The ideal candidate will have experience handling all phases of litigation, including trial work, depositions, and mediations, and will be dedicated to advocating for clients with a focus on achieving favorable outcomes.
Location
Duties
- Make strategic legal decisions throughout all phases of the litigation process.
- Analyze the applicability of laws and statutes to determine the potential recovery in each case.
- Communicate with clients and medical providers to ensure the highest quality of care.
- Negotiate personal injury settlements.
- Take and defend depositions of parties and expert witnesses.
- Pursue advantageous litigation strategies to enhance settlement positions or trial outcomes.
- Draft and argue motions in court.
- Attend mediation sessions.
- Appear in court on behalf of clients.
- Prepare for and serve as 1st or 2nd chair in trial proceedings as necessary.
Requirements
- Licensed to practice law in Texas.
- 3-5 years of litigation and trial experience in Texas personal injury cases.
- Experience as 1st or 2nd chair in trials (1st chair preferred, 2nd chair required).
- Proven experience handling contested motions.
- Proficiency in taking and defending depositions, particularly of expert witnesses.
- Experience in mediations for personal injury cases.
- Ability to manage both pre-litigation and litigation caseloads.
- Computer literacy, including document drafting and e-filing.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage a high-volume litigation docket efficiently.
- Detail-oriented, with strong strategic thinking and advocacy skills.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus but not required.
Education
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications
- Active license to practice law in the State of Texas.
