A law firm in Orange, CA, is seeking an Immigration Attorney with 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law. The candidate will report to the Sr. Associate Attorney, manage their caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.
Duties:
- Report to the Sr. Associate Attorney
- Manage caseload and client interactions
- Collaborate with the Immigration Team of Attorneys and legal assistants
- Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients
- Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings at the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
- Visit and conduct intake with detained individuals at detention centers
- Prepare diverse immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
- Review immigration applications/packets and make necessary adjustments
- Present to and work with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law
- Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary strategies
- Develop strategy and prepare clients/witnesses for court/USCIS testimony
- Provide legal analysis for clients to determine possible case benefits
- Prepare and submit legal briefs for a variety of immigration cases
Requirements:
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing
- 1-4 years of experience in Immigration Law
- Strong interpersonal skills of the highest caliber
- Proven record of moving legal cases forward and ability to manage a caseload
- Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
- Experience with Case Management Software is preferred
- Preferably bilingual in Spanish
Education:
Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Admitted to practice law and in good standing
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of immigration law and procedures
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively
- Proficiency with Case Management Software preferred
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred
