Job Description:

Duties:

  • Draft, review, and negotiate documentation for complex derivatives transactions.
  • Provide legal advice and support on derivatives-related matters, including regulatory issues.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and provide tailored legal solutions.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues.
  • Work independently to move transactions forward from inception to completion.
  • Stay current with changes in laws and regulations related to derivatives and financial markets.
  • Coordinate with internal and external parties to ensure seamless transaction execution.
  • Assist in developing and implementing best practices and procedures for the firm's derivatives practice.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in derivatives at a financial institution or law firm.
  • Proven ability to draft and negotiate documents for complex derivative structures.
  • Strong understanding of derivatives products and financial markets.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage client relationships effectively.
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple transactions simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the North Carolina (NC) Bar.

Certifications:

  • Active NC Bar membership.
