Job Overview: A law firm in San Jose, CA, seeks an experienced Mid-Level Employment Law Attorney with a strong background in counseling clients and litigation involving wage and hour disputes, class actions, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination cases in California state and federal courts.

Job Duties:

  • Counsel clients on employment law issues, including wage and hour laws, leave policies (FMLA, ADA), and compliance matters.
  • Represent clients in litigation involving wage and hour disputes, class actions, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination cases in California state and federal courts.
  • Draft and prepare responsive pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Engage in motion practice, including drafting and arguing motions.
  • Respond to discovery requests and participate in all phases of discovery.
  • Conducted legal research and provided legal analysis for clients.
  • Develop employment policies, procedures, and compliance training programs.
  • Negotiate settlements and manage pre-litigation disputes.
  • Advise clients on employment-related regulatory matters.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active member in good standing of the California State Bar.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience practicing employment law, including litigation experience in California.
  • Proven track record of handling wage and hour cases, class actions, employment discrimination, and wrongful termination matters.
  • Experience responding to administrative charges and representing clients in state and federal courts.
  • Strong academic background with exceptional communication, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
