Job Overview: A well-established law firm in Melville, NY is looking to expand its team by hiring a dedicated and experienced Personal Injury Litigation Attorney. The ideal candidate will have expertise in plaintiff’s personal injury and negligence litigation, with a focus on the Child Victims Act. This position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload with supervision and engage in all aspects of legal practice, including drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and appearing in court. Duties:
- Assist in handling cases related to Personal Injury, Plaintiff's Negligence, and the Child Victims Act.
- Draft and review complaints, bills of particulars, discovery responses, and demands.
- Conduct depositions and manage communication with clients, opposing counsel, insurance companies, and courts.
- Attend court appearances and hearings, providing legal support and advocacy.
- Supervise junior attorneys and support staff, offering guidance as needed.
- Collaborate with colleagues on case strategies and legal research.
- Maintain thorough case files and documentation.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in plaintiff's personal injury or negligence litigation.
- Proven ability to manage caseloads and handle complex legal matters.
- Experience in drafting legal documents, conducting depositions, and court appearances.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills.
Education:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
- Must be admitted to the New York State Bar.
Skills:
- Strong litigation skills with a focus on personal injury and negligence law.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Organizational skills to manage a diverse and active caseload.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team of legal professionals.
- Courtroom experience is preferred.
