A law firm in Purchase, NY, is seeking a motivated Associate Attorney with 1-5 years of litigation experience in areas such as bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, or product defect. The ideal candidate will manage their caseload under partner oversight, handle all aspects of litigation including trial preparation and trials, and possess exceptional analytical and communication skills.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of litigation matters with supervision from partners.
  • Draft motions, pleadings, and discovery responses tailored to case specifics.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memorandums on various legal issues.
  • Attend hearings, court conferences, and other legal proceedings.
  • Take and defend depositions of witnesses and experts.
  • Participate in inspections and other case-related activities.
  • Consult with expert witnesses to strengthen case strategy.
  • Attend mediations and negotiate settlements when appropriate.
  • Prepare thoroughly for trials, including drafting trial briefs and organizing evidence.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; certification for admission is acceptable.
  • 1-5 years of litigation experience in bodily injury, premises liability, automobile liability, wrongful death, or product defect.
  • Superior analytical skills to assess legal issues and develop effective strategies.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities for clear and persuasive advocacy.
  • Ability to manage own caseload effectively and work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar; certification for admission is acceptable.
  • Admission to the Connecticut Bar is a plus.
