Full-time Staff Attorney - Protect and Expand the Rights of People with Disabilities Organization: Disability Rights Center - New Hampshire (DRC-NH) Job Type: Full-time or Part-time Location: New Hampshire Salary: Commensurate with experience Benefits: Medical and Dental Insurance, Retirement Plan, Generous Paid Time Off, Law School Loan Repayment Assistance, Flexible Work Schedule Overview: Disability Rights Center – New Hampshire (DRC-NH) is an independent non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and advancing the legal rights and advocacy interests of all people with disabilities. With over 45 years of experience, DRC-NH has successfully litigated landmark cases in federal and state courts, leading to historic investments in mental health services and improved accessibility for people with disabilities. DRC-NH is seeking a full-time or part-time staff attorney to join their team in the fight for equal rights and opportunities for people with disabilities across the state. Responsibilities: - Represent clients with disabilities in individual and systemic litigation related to disability rights issues in administrative proceedings, state, and federal courts - Participate in task forces, coalitions, and committees that benefit people with disabilities - Respond to media requests on behalf of DRC-NH regarding issues impacting people with disabilities Qualifications: - Minimum of three years of experience in civil and/or criminal litigation; knowledge of disability law is helpful, but not necessary - Strong commitment to enforcing and expanding the rights of people with disabilities in New Hampshire - Excellent communication, organization, and writing skills, with a proactive problem-solving approach and good judgment - . from an accredited law school - Active membership in the New Hampshire State Bar and the Bar of the United States District Court for the District of New Hampshire, or ability to gain admission promptly How to Apply: If you are interested in joining the DRC-NH team, please email the following to : - Cover letter or email expressing your interest in the position and any accommodations needed for the interview - Resume - Writing sample/brief (not to exceed 30 pages) Applications will be considered immediately and the position will remain open until the right candidate is found.
