A law firm in Palo Alto, CA is seeking a dedicated Lateral Associate Attorney with experience in commercial litigation. The ideal candidate will possess skills in handling discovery, conducting and defending depositions, drafting pleadings, and managing document review. Preference will be given to candidates with courtroom experience. The position requires outstanding academic credentials, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and bar admission in California or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of commercial litigation matters.
• Conduct legal research and provide analysis of complex legal issues.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
• Handle all aspects of discovery, including document production and e-discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and trials as necessary.
• Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
• Maintain accurate and organized case files and documentation.
• Assist in developing case strategy and litigation tactics.

Requirements:

• JD degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California State Bar or eligibility to promptly obtain admission.
• Should have 2+ years of experience in commercial litigation, including courtroom experience.
• Strong understanding of civil procedure and litigation strategies.
• Outstanding academic credentials with a demonstrated record of achievement.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
• Commitment to professionalism, ethics, and client service.
