Job Overview: A well-established law firm is seeking a dynamic and motivated Associate Attorney to join its practice in Chicago. The ideal candidate will focus on family law and litigation cases, representing clients throughout the Chicagoland area. Location:

Duties:

  • Communicate with clients to understand their legal needs and provide counsel on family law and litigation matters
  • Develop legal strategies to resolve cases favorably and cost-effectively for clients
  • Advise clients on legal options and potential outcomes, including possible risks or threats
  • Build trust-based relationships with clients through effective communication and representation
  • Represent clients in criminal and civil legal proceedings, including court appearances and negotiations
  • Prepare legal documents such as contracts, dispositions, and pleadings in a timely and accurate manner
  • Stay informed on current legislation, especially related to family law and litigation
  • Find ethical and effective solutions to legal matters

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an American Bar Association accredited law school
  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (or eligibility for admission)
  • Strong commitment to ethical practice and adherence to local, state, and federal laws
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively to develop case strategies
  • Strong critical thinking, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
  • Excellent negotiation, research, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Attention to detail and adaptability to changing case dynamics
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (preferred)
