Job Overview:
A distinguished law firm based in Atlanta, GA is currently seeking a dedicated legal professional to join its growing property litigation practice. The selected candidate will focus on representing clients in disputes involving homeowners and commercial property claims, with a strong emphasis on first-party matters. Duties:
Evaluate and manage a portfolio of first-party property and casualty insurance matters
Represent clients in various legal proceedings, including depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
Analyze insurance policies for interpretation, coverage, and risk exposure
Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and discovery responses in compliance with Georgia court protocols
Advise policyholders and insurers on litigation strategy, settlement opportunities, and regulatory issues
Coordinate with adjusters, underwriters, and legal professionals to implement resolution strategies
Conduct in-depth legal research and prepare opinions on statutory and case law specific to Georgia insurance claims
Attend hearings and client meetings throughout Georgia
Provide counsel on claim prevention strategies and legal risk management
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in civil litigation with a focus on property or insurance claims
Demonstrated expertise in first-party insurance disputes
Deep familiarity with Georgia’s legal framework for insurance and civil litigation
Solid track record of handling depositions, motions, and courtroom litigation
Excellent legal writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
Ability to manage multiple cases with minimal supervision
Strong interpersonal skills and client-facing experience
Education:
Juris Doctor (.) from an accredited law school
Certifications:
Active membership in good standing with the Georgia State Bar
Skills:
Advanced legal research and analytical capabilities
Litigation strategy and negotiation
Insurance policy analysis
Client advisory and communication
Time management and independent task handling
Familiarity with working alongside insurance carriers or corporate entities preferred
Bilingual skills (particularly Spanish) are considered a plus
