A law firm seeks an experienced and highly motivated Senior Immigration Attorney to join their team in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. This position provides an exciting opportunity for a dedicated immigration attorney to manage a diverse range of cases and collaborate with a skilled team of professionals in an environment that promotes growth and development. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in immigration law and a passion for helping clients navigate the complexities of the immigration process.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and strategic guidance on immigration matters, translating complex legal concepts for clients.
  • Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage an active caseload, ensuring all matters are progressing efficiently and promptly.
  • Conduct intake assessments with detained individuals at detention centers and provide legal guidance on their cases.
  • Prepare and file various immigration applications, including family-based petitions, removal defense, and more.
  • Review immigration applications and adjust documentation to ensure compliance with regulations and to strengthen cases.
  • Work with law enforcement agencies, government offices, and community organizations to address changes in immigration law.
  • Conduct consultations with prospective clients, assess their needs, and develop tailored immigration strategies.
  • Collaborate with clients and witnesses to develop case strategies and prepare for court appearances or USCIS interviews.
  • Analyze each case to identify potential advantages, risks, or opportunities for clients.
  • Draft legal briefs, motions, and other written submissions for a range of immigration-related cases.

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience practicing immigration law.
  • Proven ability to manage a significant caseload while maintaining high standards of client service.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Experience handling Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian cases, EOIR matters, Detained cases, Citizenship applications, and other USCIS filings.
  • Proficiency with case management software is preferred.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in California.

  • Strong analytical and legal research abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively.
  • Capable of strategizing and working collaboratively within a team environment.
