This role offers a hybrid work schedule and a flexible compensation structure for attorneys who exceed billable hour expectations. Key Responsibilities:

  • Handle securities litigation and FINRA-related matters, representing clients in regulatory disputes, arbitrations, and related proceedings.
  • Manage civil litigation cases from inception to resolution, including drafting pleadings, conducting discovery, preparing motions, and participating in trials or settlement negotiations.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance on complex securities disputes, regulatory compliance, and litigation strategy.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, analyze case law, and prepare legal memoranda to support ongoing litigation and arbitration cases.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and legal teams on complex securities and civil litigation matters to ensure effective case management.
  • Maintain clear and timely communication with clients, providing them with updates, legal advice, and strategic guidance.
  • Ensure a minimum of 1,900 billable hours annually, with the opportunity to earn additional compensation for hours worked beyond this threshold.
  • Participate in both in-office and remote work through a hybrid schedule, allowing flexibility while maintaining collaboration with the firm’s legal team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 1 to 4 years of civil litigation experience is required.
  • Experience in securities litigation or FINRA matters is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Admitted to practice and in good standing with the New York State Bar.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a litigation caseload, including securities-related disputes and general civil litigation.
  • Strong research, drafting, and oral advocacy skills, with attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.

Educational Background:

  • Juris Doctor (.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active membership with the New York State Bar.

Certifications:

  • Ongoing Continuing Legal Education (CLE) in securities law, FINRA-related topics, or civil litigation is preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills, with the ability to distill complex legal issues into practical advice for clients.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present legal arguments and negotiate effectively.
  • Team-oriented and collaborative, but also capable of managing cases independently when necessary.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a hybrid work environment, balancing in-office collaboration with remote work flexibility.
  • Proficiency in time management, meeting deadlines, and ensuring billable hour targets are met or exceeded.
