Summary: - Job Title: Senior Director, Employee & Labor Relations - Department: Human Resources - Schedule: Full Time - Salary: 38124 - Location: Boston, Massachusetts - Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or business field; . or LLB is a plus - Experience: 8-10 years of labor and employee relations experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial position Position Summary: The Senior Director of Employee & Labor Relations at Boston Medical Center is responsible for managing the Labor Relations and Employee Relations functions. This includes developing and coordinating an overall employee relations strategy, providing guidance in labor negotiations, and negotiating and administering collective bargaining agreements. The Senior Director also proactively addresses labor and employee relations issues to promote a positive working environment and designs and implements employee relations programs and services. Essential Responsibilities/Duties: - Develop and implement employee relations strategy and programs to improve operational performance. - Provide education and training to managers and employees on employment matters. - Advise and counsel on legal matters and work-related issues. - Assess and address employee relations issues and recommend corrective action. - Establish and monitor personnel policies and procedures in compliance with laws and regulations. - Lead and direct employee relations staff. - Collect and analyze data on diversity, recruitment, and retention to identify areas for improvement. - Stay current on employment and employee relations practices and share best practices within the organization. - Oversee labor relations function, including negotiating collective bargaining agreements and providing guidance to managers. - Train managers on contract administration and ensure uniform application of policies. - Provide legal expertise for collective bargaining agreements, grievances, and disputes. - Serve on committees and represent the organization to external agencies as needed. Job Requirements: - Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or business field; . or LLB is a plus. - Experience: 8-10 years of labor and employee relations experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial position. - Knowledge and Skills: Extensive knowledge of labor, EEO, and wage & hour laws; excellent communication skills; ability to work with diverse professionals at all levels; critical thinking and problem-solving skills; ability to handle changing priorities and maintain confidentiality; ability to mentor and motivate staff; analytical skills; strong negotiation skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office.
